About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated designer with 3+ years of industry experience to join our team in San Francisco.

In particular, we would like to meet candidates who have an interest in design research and developing creative, user-centered solutions for placemaking, wayfinding, and information design projects. As part of this role, you will be working in San Francisco under the direction of Project Leads and Senior Designers in San Francisco and the UK.

A willingness to travel is desirable as projects are based in California and across the U.S.


Responsibilities

Lead and support design research activities

Conduct site surveys and analysis

Develop and visualize design concepts

Lead and support in user testing and prototyping

Support and assist with information planning

Develop information design solutions and graphic set-outs including; cartographic elements, maps, diagrams, and pictograms

Create artworks for physical, print, and digital products ready for production

Attend meetings with clients and project collaborators including engineers, architects, and fabricators

Present work to internal teams and project collaborators

Delegate to and oversee Junior Designers

We are looking for

Degree level qualification/s in Graphic Design/Visual Communication/related field or equivalent work experience

Desire and enthusiasm to learn new skills and progress as a designer and a leader

Passion for developing design solutions that improve the everyday experience of places

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and InDesign

Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs

Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of GIS software would be advantageous
